They Might Exist, but We Knew That

With the recent release of classified information from the government about UAPs, the alien topic is all the rage these days.

Even some scummy pastors who embellished a story about a secret government meeting with a group of pastors made the headlines, and while it was exaggerated, let’s think things through for a second.

Let’s say we turn on the television one day (something I rarely do these days, but follow me here) and an alleged being from outer space is speaking live from the White House or Moscow, or wherever they landed.

If you’re a Christian who believes in the Bible, what would you do? Would that shock your worldview to the point of just tossing out the Scriptures?

I’d be a bit on the skeptical side first, myself. AI is getting to be scary with what it’s doing, so would it really be something that was occurring or might it be AI?

Even if it were a being from outside this world, how do we know that other beings in the vast cosmos don’t also lie?

I think of that one Twilight Zone episode where the aliens come and give humanity a book called “To Serve Man.” Turns out—after much decoding—the book was a cookbook, not a manual on how to help mankind.

If aliens exist (and they might, with how big the universe is) then they might be capable of deceptive tactics.

We can’t just trust that they are who they say they are without being cautious.

What if a fallen angelic race are the occupants of these craft that defy the laws of physics as we know them?

I’ve said on here multiple times that the words alien, angel, and demon are likely interchangeable in some fashion.

That humanity has collectively been having these experiences for thousands of years, and the terms just changed with the space age.

While I’m not a conspiracy theorist in a normal sense, I find the subject of UAPs fascinating for multiple reasons.

If there are supernatural forces high in the skies and below our oceans, then the supernatural claims of the Bible about being visited by other races (angels) are vindicated. Most angels don’t have wings, so how do they fly around the cosmos? Might they use these things that we call UAPs?

I know this subject matter is kooky and out-there speculation, but now it’s mainstream and serious as well.

The other reason I find this interesting is that it might show that God created beings that aren’t human on planets out of our reach. It’s an interesting thought to ponder.

Some of the alien files released showed a message from aliens to humanity, and if I’m being 1000% frank about it, it reads like edgy teenage fiction during an emo phase on how an angsty soul might think aliens would look at us.

That we’re the lowest form of life, and the only species that has not conquered space yet. How the hell would aliens know that? Did they visit every other galaxy? Not likely. These files are genuine articles mixed with fiction.

Plus, if the government is telling you aliens exist, it might be wise to believe the opposite.

Even if aliens are out there, my Bible has always said there are beings from outside Earth.

It changes nothing for me.

I don’t believe the creation story is a myth, only that it is a poetic expression of how life came to be.

If evolution occurred as commonly taught, it would only show that it could happen elsewhere, too. This being the way God brought life about does not change the Bible for me. I believe that if evolution is true, then God is the one who guided it.

Christians get hung up on hyper-literalism far too much.

But the Bible says in literal terms that there are other beings out there. Seraphim, Ophanim, messengers, and all the heavenly host.

“And the heavens and the earth are completed, and all their host” (Genesis 2:1 [YLT]).

Because in Him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through Him, and for Him, have been created” (Colossians 1:16 [YLT]).

As these passages suggest, the heavens are full of life. Whether it is a biological life that developed over time, I do not know. Perhaps all cosmic life is angelic or demonic because of how hostile the universe is to humans in our current state.

That would be speculative eisegesis, though, and I’m not fond of that.

Still, my point is that the Bible says there is life out there.

So, aliens existing—whether biological or angelic—is irrelevant to me in the sense of it tearing down my faith.

And their existence doesn’t change my paying my bills, loving other humans, and spreading the gospel in the way God has gifted me.

These files may say something, or they may say nothing. I haven’t sifted through all of them yet.

But the point I’m trying to make is, keep things through a biblical lens.

May Yahweh have the glory for all He has created, either on Earth or in the heavens.

Shabbat shalom!
