The Ever-Elusive Purpose

I redid my website because justified text makes far too many spaces for easy readability, and some people have dyslexia, which would make it troublesome. This way, the text is legible and not overly spaced.

Purpose eludes much of humanity, leading to disappointments and a lack of fulfillment that might permeate a soul for its entire lifetime.

We all have our own paths to walk, our individual sparks that keep our souls in check and in tune with higher purposes.

Losing that knowledge leads to a barren mindscape with little to console it. Even if we have it all—the perfect career, the perfect woman (or man)—if we want for almost nothing, without purpose to drive our lives it rings hollow.

God hardwired our purpose within the gifts He gave to us when He planned our lives in the womb. God sees all history as the present—at least, that’s as close to understanding His ways and power as I can come.

In this plan, He offered us the best path to take for our lives, based on the strengths we have. While working on weaknesses is commendable, focusing on strengths is what should be immutable, unchanging as we grow. I hope that makes sense.

The further we grow, the better it will be for our strength as a foundation for our lives.

God has all His mighty purposes worked out, so we don’t have to. That’s not to say don’t be proactive, but rather, seek His will above all things, and everything that He desires for us will manifest in our lives.

You might want a certain income by a certain age, or to be married by a certain age. God’s timing is best in all things. When you step into purpose, those things usually follow.

Know Him?

Know purpose.

No Him?

No purpose.

We’ve all got to learn to follow our purpose, so that the rest of our lives will fall into place. We’re not too old for something (aging is like fine wine or old-time root beer). We aren’t too young for some things. When we follow our purpose, we are perfect for those things.

Purpose will lead you to your destiny, your light in this world. Purpose will put you on the path to your bashert (soulmate). It will even open doors for you that you never thought possible, to enter rooms you’ve always been meant to enter.

Lord knows I’ve made my share of mistakes, and I know what it’s like waiting for that perfect someone. Waiting to find my purpose. Being patient during the time in between.

Often, you aren’t looking for it, and it falls right into your lap when you least expect it.

Some things may no longer serve you, but you must never let go of your purpose, because it will always serve you.

There’s no such thing as being unfulfilled when you find your purpose.

You’ve got to realize what that task that only your soul can complete is (Kabbalist thinking). Your purpose is your soul’s correction, your tikkun (soul and self-improvement) in this life. Your personal universe might be fractured and in disarray. It’s up to you to agree to your special task and bring the fractured and dissonant existence into something molded by experience and soul searching.

There’s an old Hebrew parable about the simple man and the clever man that I think of. Being straightforward is the best way to be to yourself. Be like the simple man. Don’t overthink things and realize your purpose is how to reset your soul to the highest level one can achieve.

Purposeful living starts within, then extends to those around us. We must become the man or woman we are meant to be through living this life with purpose.

I’m not naïve enough to think life will always be a bed of garden flowers, but with a positive mindset and never playing victim or being lost, purpose will take us farther than we ever thought we’d be able to go.

Purpose.

Light.

Destiny.

Three strands of an eternal cord of truth, whether veiled behind undiscovered talent or staring you in the face.

You can do it.

Find that purpose.

I believe in you.
