A Short Thought on Choosing Yahweh Over Everything Else
The Bible gives us instructions on what to do when tough times come, or when people close to you believe things that are against Yahweh, the God of Israel.
It doesn’t matter who is close to you.
If they betray the God of Israel, they are to be rejected and outcast no matter what that may do to your life.
Jesus said something quite interesting about this subject in the Gospels.
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:26 [ESV]).
Does this mean we should hate those close to us for any reason?
No.
Of course not.
But if they impede biblical truth, or worship false gods, or sympathize with Hitler, we are to reject them and not look back.
This is God’s kingdom that is at stake in our lives.
To go against Israel as part of the plan of God is heresy and should be rejected outright.
If that means losing your family or your spouse—as hard as it may be to accept—so be it.
You must always choose the Lord of All Creation over those you hold dear. Because the first commandment essentially teaches us to choose God first.
If they don’t repent of their wickedness after admonition after admonition, then let it lie dead.
God will deal with them in His sovereign power and His perfect timing.
Besides, leaving those things behind means Yahweh will bring you people who are not like that.
If someone is sympathizing with Hitler and disputing the events of the Holocaust, the enemy wickedly deceives them.
Yahweh have mercy on their souls for such thinking and actions.
I hope in this turbulent time that people choose the side of the righteous.
Shalom and blessings to you and yours.
