The Father’s Frequency in the Mix of Life
To clearly seek God’s will, I believe we need to tune out the wrong frequencies around us and tune in to the Father’s station.
Every believer has their own special walk with Yahweh. We’re given ears to hear, but what about our spiritual ears?
What I say in this post may not make sense to some, but it works as a metaphor.
Perhaps, God willing, it might help you hear God’s will clearer in your life.
The foundation of faith is found within the written text of Scripture.
Not man’s opinions.
Not what we would like the Bible to say.
Jesus often said, “It is written.”
Do you notice that?
Jesus never said, “I believe my Father is saying this.”
What He taught were the Scriptures as written.
When Satan came to tempt Him during His fast, He quoted Scripture as written.
My opinion (not a fact, and you don’t have to agree) is we often unintentionally curse ourselves by adding to God’s word. We stop up our ears by doing this.
By following Scripture as it is written, we avoid the trap of “religion” and find ourselves deep in a “relationship” with our King.
Finding God’s will might be as easy as taking a long jog in the morning and listening intently to the stirrings of your heart. The quiet whispers of the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps taking a canine companion along might make the journey fun for you. In any case, it gives your pet a chance to explore. The Bible says a good person takes care of and regards the life of their animals (Proverbs 12:10).
We must find what works for us. But the point is whether walking jointly with a person or pet, or walking solo, your ears must remain open.
Finding that level of spiritual awareness (tuning in to the frequencies of the divine) might seem odd or spooky.
I honestly care little about what atheists might think about searching for God’s will or hearing His voice.
Many believers are afraid to look crazy to the world. But if that’s one of your worries, what will you do when persecution or trouble comes because of your faith?
Besides, thinking a universe magically came from a singularity for no reason is far crazier than the reality of God.
Who is really the crazy one here?
The Bible says all men and women know there is a God, and they are without excuse.
Paul wrote that under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, meaning God Himself knows all people know He exists.
I’m going to side with the being who controls black holes on this one.
Atheism is a denial of reality.
Spaghetti monsters and humanism be damned.
But, back to the point, genuine faith can look a bit out there.
Yet it is needed from us if we want to truly feel our Father’s presence in our lives. To grasp that frequency in our spiritual ears.
When you cross that threshold of truly putting your life in God’s hands, you stop worrying so much about the bills (we must work, though), the travel, your health (but you must still take care of yourself), and everything else the world worries about.
If God feeds the sparrows out in the field, how much more will He feed you?
If God gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him, why haven’t you asked?
Just something to think about.
Listen.
Open your ears.
Tune out the negative thoughts, people (within reason), and the philosophies of this world.
I’m not saying you can’t glean wisdom from a self-help book, or that a financial advisor is a terrible idea.
But our true understanding and worth should come from Jesus Christ and the Scriptures.
Realign your focus and find God within the mundane, the everyday events that sometimes pass us by.
There’s a world full of veritable miracles out there, too, but we often forget life is a miracle and magic of its own, with its own frequency.
Looking to enrich our prayer lives is a noble goal and an awesome way to find that spiritual frequency.
This also helps us understand God’s will.
The whole duty of humankind is to fear God and keep His commandments. Solomon said this in all his wisdom.
When we keep God’s commandments, listen for His frequency, and pray without ceasing, His will shall become clear with no trouble.
Since we’re on the topic of frequencies, think of your walk with Yahweh as an equalizer. In a neutral state, it is flat. There is a function, but some things are muddied and unclear.
It’s standard.
But deeper walks require turning bands up and down until we get something rich for our efforts.
When we adjust each frequency band, boosting some areas and cutting back others, the sound becomes richer and fuller. You can hear the instruments and vocals, every little nuance of the notes.
In mixing audio, you might think boosting is the way to go. Adding this or that.
“I’ll pray more.”
“I’ll do this on my own strength and win God’s approval.”
But Christ’s grace is sufficient for us, and we can’t perform our way into the kingdom. It is only by God’s righteousness upon us in the Messiah that we enter that kingdom.
So, when we clear out sin in our lives, cutting back on awful choices and vain philosophies, our ears will hear pleasant things from the Maker of Worlds. When we dial it back, not thinking our efforts are going to make it for us, things become clearer.
You’ll hear the guitar, bass, drums, and vocals individually and perfectly.
Cutting things down helps the mix shine.
Maybe rock or country aren’t your style. That’s fine.
Even in drum and bass, or rap, cutting some frequencies (delicately) will achieve the same result as boosting bass.
Aligning ourselves with the Father, and taking things out, adding only where necessary, is the right approach to hear His voice.
Do things wrong, and you’ve got a muddy mix that won’t sound right.
If you want to know the mind of our awesome God, read the Scriptures, and quiet yourself enough to know what to reduce and what to boost.
Take that walk.
Go for a long drive.
Curl up and write something in your dream journal.
Do what it takes to get to the point where your spiritual ears are open.
Because when you truly align with His will, the muddied sound becomes a vibrant symphony of music, where not a single frequency band is missing from its place.
Once you dial in that frequency, you won’t miss God’s voice or will ever again.
Learn to listen.
You’ll find what your ears are meant to hear.
