Some Thoughts on Current-Day Issues in Light of July 4th
Interpersonal relationships are hard these days.
If you’re not playing for the same team, then things can get out of hand quickly.
I try to avoid political discussions as much as I am able, stemming from firsthand experiences with conspiracy cults (Q and Protocols of Zion crap) and MAGA cults being less-than-stellar and fruitless.
While I do lean toward the right, I refuse to be a part of an agenda and agree with everything just because one side does.
My disagreement with people such as Candace Owens is justified, because Jews did not conspire to put dinosaurs in the ground to trick Christians into believing there’s no God. And Iranians can speak English fine. The first one is hyperbolic, and the second one is objectively what she said.
Voting for one person or another does not decide your moral standing before God. To say you must vote Republican or you’re against God is ridiculous. I think leftism has lost the plot in many ways, but I will defend anyone’s right to choose those views.
That’s what America is about. Freedom and the ability to choose.
But when these things affect our personal relationships, something is wrong. My disagreement with whether the moon landing was a hoax should not decide if I’m loved.
If someone voted for Trump, you can’t look at them as evil because of the narrative.
God is the one who sets up kings, who brings up and puts down.
If Kamala had won, we as Christians would have to accept the Almighty’s will as much as we must with the current president.
You might not like Trump. You might not have liked Kamala. But God is the ultimate authority and who rules during your time is His choice and the prerogative domain of Him alone.
As a free nation, we get to vote, but ultimately, with God’s sovereignty weaving in and out of lives, His will happens.
Think for yourself. Choose who you support for yourself. That’s what’s great about a democratic republic.
But don’t fall for the conspiratorial underpinnings of the narratives out there. Project 2025 is just as ridiculous as the moon landing being fake.
There’s a lot of fear-mongering propaganda out there, and we must think critically to avoid falling into pits that aren’t anything more than straw men.
This past Independence Day, I am grateful WW3 didn’t break out; I am grateful for those who protect our freedoms, and I am grateful for all the others out there who don’t believe political alignment determines your worth.
If you think less of someone because they’re on the left, right, or center or whatever it may be, that’s a heart issue.
The ultimate authority and freedom in this life is the King of Heaven.
He’s above our petty, politically charged problems and all must submit to Him. He is the name above all names, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, not to mention the LORD Himself.
As someone who has experienced being “stupid” for thinking critically, for not believing certain narratives, and aligned with Satan for thinking the moon landing happened, I’m telling you, not everyone is like this.
There are good people out there who won’t devalue you because you might think differently.
Let’s all be salt and light, even with heavy topics.
Salt and light both change what they touch. Things aren’t the same once they’re introduced.
