Some History and What May Be Ahead

The Scriptures are the only holy texts in the history of humanity to describe coming events over thousands of years with an accuracy that should make any atheist quake and shudder in his or her unbelief.

People are always rightly wary of any prognostication that is far too vague to truly be something real.

Real prophecy is hyper-specific, with some riddles here and there to (in my opinion) ensure the events come about as intended. When God gives a prophecy, it tells us who, what, where, why, and how. The when isn’t always given, but when God speaks forth a prophecy, we will see it come to pass in some capacity depending on the timeline.

This event will happen in this city, by this method, etc.

Take a tarot reader who is vague or says things from cold reads and compare it to the prophet Isaiah, who named King Cyrus by name 150 years before he showed up on the world stage.

There are always objections to such instances due to humanity not wanting to accept anything supernatural, dating later Isaiah to after the Babylonian exile, but that makes little sense when you read the content of the book itself. It is one self-contained narrative that even describes the crucifixion of Jesus in Isaiah 53 hundreds of years before it occurred.

You can put your head in the sand all you want, but prophecy will continue to be a real thing.

I’ve yet to see an Islamic prophecy come to pass (also, with the way Muhammed reacted when he received the Quran, you’d think a demon gave it to him).

No Hindu prophecies have occurred, and the same for Buddhism.

Yet, we have this:

“… who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and he shall fulfill all my purpose’; saying of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be built,’ and of the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid’” (Isaiah 44:28 [ESV]).

Cyrus came to power in the early 530s B.C. Isaiah was written around 700 B.C.

Even if I played devil’s (hmm…) advocate on that late date the liberal scholars give later Isaiah, how do you explain the crucifixion of Christ passages in Isaiah 53? The prophecy that He would rise from the dead? Be pierced for sins? Not to mention Cyrus did exactly what he was prophesied to do, even with the late date.

You must be genuine in your blindness if you can’t see that.

Prophecy is a real thing, and there is no way around it.

Jesus created this universe and held Isaiah in high regard, quoting him a few times during His ministry.

Islam has yet to produce such prophecies, or you could say they will be prophetic in some ways.

In fact, Islamic nations are mentioned in the prophecies of the Scriptures as the nations Jesus fights on behalf of Israel in the end times. He crushes them like grapes under His feet.

Interestingly, the Bible foretold that all the surrounding (as in around the land) nations around Israel would be united in one cause against it and try to destroy God’s holy land.

The result of this is the world coming to know Yahweh and the destruction of Israel’s enemies.

You don’t have to like Israel’s actions, but the truth is it is their land, not the land of Ottoman Empire refugees. God keeps His covenant promises forever and forevermore.

The Bible foretold a time when all the nations would be against Israel, a time when Gaza would be forsaken and desolate, and a time when the nations that try to destroy Israel will be destroyed by Jesus’s intervention.

My point in saying this is that we see the First Coming of Christ happened just as predicted, so the Second Coming of Christ will also happen just as predicted.

It may be soon on the horizon, with the events of the Olivet Discourse suspiciously looking like current events. Earthquakes in diverse places (a prophecy that only makes sense when humanity has instant communication technology), wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, and the like are happening weirdly now.

It may not be that, of course. But events lately look quite odd and are not business-as-usual occurrences.

The birth pangs will only grow in frequency and intensity as the return of Yeshua draws closer.

Just remember. The Bible has been 100% accurate so far. What comes next should have our minds at full attention.

Blessing and shalom to you.

Also, may those affected by the massive earthquakes mercifully receive relief, and may Yahweh comfort their souls as the death toll rises.

These events will only increase as time goes on, so repentance and mercy must be in our hearts as dark days loom.

Am I saying this is what Jesus predicted? Some more time will tell, but things are certainly changing.

Get your house in order and stay in His grace.
