Misplaced Hate and the Real Problem

I believe in reasoning from the Scriptures in the original languages and using the cultural context of the Bible to further our understanding.

Sometimes, people pull out the Greek and Hebrew to do word dances and tiptoe around solid theological truth.

That happens.

However, it is important to realize that some foundational truths are lost if we don’t see the original languages in their context.

Since I have seen an epidemic of young men learning to hate women (huh?!) in recent months and years, I think it’s important to start at the beginning of all things.

When God created mankind, there is a little evidence He created us androgynous, then separated us into male and female in Genesis 2. At least, according to Rabbinic thought, which isn’t always far off the mark.

That aside, when God takes Eve out of Adam’s side, He blesses Adam with a woman. She is bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh.

The Hebrew words ezer kenegdo are used to describe her relationship to him. She is to be a non-subservient partner to Adam, though God sets up the man as the leader in the relationship, especially after the Fall of Man event that Satan caused.

Women are a gift from God to men. I don’t say this to put them at a level of possessions or stuff. What I mean is that God’s creating women was done to bless men with a life partner. Women are also blessed by a good man.

We are to cherish women in a relational context. Women are to cherish and revere their relationship as much as the men.

The Bible was compiled during a time when men ruled over all things in society, so much of women’s plights in the Bible are under-realized in our thoughts because we live in a world where women are fine on their own.

In biblical times, women needed the protection and provision that men provided, or they might suffer death at the hands of the elements or terrible people.

Through Scripture, we are called to support each other no matter what gender. Men and women are not independent of one another. God designed the world this way.

Knowing these truths about how women were created in God’s image secondarily after coming from Adam, and how women were to be cared for in the ancient Near East due to a harsh world, modern issues come under the scrutinizing microscope of careful thought.

God obviously cares about how we treat women. And He’s also awesome for creating them.

There are so many men out there who blame all their problems on women. And yes, there are feminists who go too far and blame all their problems on men.

But I’ve seen threads, posts, blogs, and all manner of information dumps that attack women as being the culprit of all evil, as some of the church fathers taught.

Tertullian taught women were the “gate to hell.” St. Jerome had similar thoughts.

There is truly nothing new under the sun.

Personally, I love women. I’d say women are one of God’s finest creations, highlighting His eye for beauty and His propensity toward tenderness. A mother’s love is an amazing aspect of our universe, and women are the fairer sex (unless you’re blind—no disrespect to those who can’t see, though).

When God created the world, He called it good, and that includes women.

Women rejecting you for terrible actions or simply because they aren’t attracted to you does not make an entire sex the devil. I have sympathy for these men because I believe they have misplaced hate.

Red Pill BS is part of the problem, but the problem goes much deeper. These men, many times, didn’t have a father figure to help them along the path of manhood.

Or they tried to start some sort of relationship dynamic and got booted, so now they hate those evil vixens that are responsible for all the evil in this world.

I’m no fan of modern feminism. But I agree with placing men and women as equal in value in God’s sight. Feminism was hijacked by malicious actors and now—at the extreme end—it only bashes men and blames men for everything.

Missing the entire point of feminism’s original intent.

Well, sadly, men have created their own form of feminism in the manosphere.

That’s not how a man solves problems, friends.

Rise to the challenge and figure out how to ride the waves of the travail of the current era. Don’t blame women for all your problems. You’re just as bad as the evil feminists.

Be a kind person and genuinely want the best for others. Don’t “play nice” to get laid. That’s despicable behavior and has no place among the Christian faithful.

But simultaneously, don’t say women can do no wrong, either. We are all capable of sin, no matter what body we are born into.

We are all sinners in need of a Messiah to wash our sins away.

Truthfully speaking, both sexes are at fault for the world, because both Adam and Eve are the root cause of sin in it.

Don’t demonize the opposite sex.

Are there bad apples among men? Absolutely!

Are there evil women? You bet!

But when we come to Christ, the blame game must stop because the root cause of all immorality is our sin nature.

It is our responsibility to choose the good inclination and fight our evil inclination.

Let’s learn to live with each other and be kind to one another, eh?

Blessed are You, Lord of the Universe, who has created both male and female. May the power and glory be Yours forever!
