Massive Storms Ahead?
I did a post a while back about how the world is changing.
I’m not a fan of being overtly political, but I will stay as neutral and skewed to biblical perspectives as I can here.
The threat of all-out war between many nations is looming over our not-too-distant future, and it is wise to prepare for a potential catastrophic scenario.
I’m not a political analyst, nor am I an expert in world issues at the same level as those professionals in the field, but the writing seems to be on the wall now.
Ukraine’s special ops, using dummy trailers, wooden sheds, and drones, hit Russia hard.
Putin vowed a heavy price in response, and now there are reports circulating (unconfirmed for now) that nuclear-capable missiles are vaulting into position in Russia. I pray that this isn’t the case.
Simultaneously, Israel is preparing to strike Iran’s nuclear sites, as they now have enough enriched uranium to create ten nuclear bombs.
Iran is preparing defenses by moving anti-aircraft and ballistic missiles near their nuclear sites to shoot down F-35s and other planes (i.e. F-15s) if they need to. Israel does not have the capability to destroy the deepest nuclear enrichment facilities, meaning downed planes are likely if the USA does not step in and help their ally (as the US has the power to wipe those sites out). Iran would likely take them out while they are refueling mid-flight, because this operation with their current arsenal would take multiple sorties.
I mention this because we are now at the cusp of a major escalation in multiple regions of the world.
Students of Bible prophecy understand Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of war in the time leading up to His return.
I don’t think this is necessarily what He meant (it’s not the Kings of the North and South in these conflicts), but we must remember He said the end is not yet even during a time of wars.
We may be seeing the starting throes of World War 3, which will cause massive inflation in many countries and, if it gets serious enough, we might see conscription come back into play (as many European countries have already started doing in recent months).
Our job as Christians in times like these is to pray our leaders have the wisdom to govern us righteously and defend the common person. You might hate the current president, you might love him, but whatever it may be, his authority is ultimately under heaven’s allowance.
Left, right, center, irrelevant-to-you, God is ultimately sovereign over the affairs of this world.
“Jesus answered him, ‘You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given to you from above. Therefore, he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin’” (John 19:11 [ESV]).
We may enter a terrible time in history in the next 6 to 12 months.
It’s something to be aware of, to keep a sliver of your thoughts on.
In the best-case scenario, nothing will happen, and things will continue to improve.
But we must also prepare ourselves for massive conflict, for normal biases to rot away.
Things may not always continue as they have if World War 3 erupts around the world.
The good news is God is in control of all things and protects His children who follow Him.
What does that mean?
It means even if you’re surrounded by thousands, they will fall, and you will stand.
When the lions go to eat you, their mouths will be stopped.
We must trust our King in all situations.
Even during times of war.
I’m not trying to fear monger or anything.
It’s just this time is different. There’re too many factors at play to ignore this potential reality.
The only way to make it through what may come is to take each step prayerfully in the coming days.
That, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
