Lessons from the Rain
Do you ever get mixed signals from life? Something is smooth sailing, and then suddenly, the waves crash—and it’s no longer calm waters?
We’ve all been on that boat before, and I want you to know it isn’t always what you think. Sometimes we think, I wish life would let me down easy.
But maybe life is trying to create something new in you, something that will lead you to the best days of your life (not in the Kellie Pickler way, either).
But life doesn’t always sing the tune you’d like it to, because the thoughts you have about what you’re going through might need some serious self-examination before you enter that new chapter.
Trust me, you’re going to feel what you must, but the storm lets up if you give it enough time.
What is the storm teaching you during the high winds?
How does it shape you after the rain stops?
That’s what it is all about.
My philosophy is to stay as positive as possible no matter what is happening, but not everyone is able to do that.
To those who have harder times during the rain, remember how to come out of the rain.
Rain doesn’t have to be depressing or negative.
It can cleanse and feel refreshing on a hot summer day, after all.
Perhaps we ought to shift our perspective a bit and see the rain as the thing that causes life to grow.
Look, I don’t know what it is you’re going through, but trust me, you’ll make it through it.
Your best year might be right ahead of you, and you might feel jubilant knowing that what you want is right around the corner.
Patience is the key thing, however.
Lord knows there are many things I’d like to have in my life right now. But the Lord also knows the best time to give us those things, and it isn’t because He is slow about it. He’s right on time, not late.
A new city doesn’t rise in a month.
A seven-figure income isn’t built overnight.
Love takes time to flourish and grow, and while first sight might be a thing, I feel that loving with a slow-burn approach builds it the best.
I write books, and sometimes it goes well; other times I want to delete the whole damn book and throw what I have in the trash. Months of revision, days of writing, and killing darlings.
Life is a bit like that.
Sometimes you must let go of how you think it should happen and take it all in stride.
God knows best whether the storm is raging, or the sky is blue.
Know above all that things might appear one way right now, but in the end, an alternative path might open that was better than the path you had wanted to take.
If we trust our God, we won’t stay stuck for long.
Remember His promise to always be there for us in our darkest times.
Sometimes, these hard times lead us to the greatest blessings.
Stay the course, move ahead, and watch the Father work.
May you have positive experiences, winks from on high, and a new chapter where you flourish beyond your wildest expectations.
Sending you love and shalom.
