Doubtful Worry vs God’s Hands

There’re so many instances in our lives when we overthink things too much or worry that something will go south.

Anxiety is not for believers in Christ.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6 [ESV]).

We should pray about everything in our lives. Even let Him know our requests. There’s nothing wrong with asking God for something if we don’t treat Him like a heavenly Wal-Mart.

Overthinking things always kills your happiness.

Remain committed to staying in the light, to walking in God’s perfect love, and you won’t have time to sorrow about things.

If we walk boldly and confidently with our God, we will always be exactly where we’re supposed to be, when we’re supposed to be there.

Thinking about your life in such a way is far better than the detrimental state of worrying about everything.

If you didn’t get that job, think outside your human limitations and realize God has a better plan for you.

If someone ghosts you after a date or two, move forward to understanding that people like that aren’t worth the time to worry about.

We must seek to thrive in this life, and while a Christian is promised trouble and tribulation from the world—we also are promised many blessings if we remain obedient. Obedience is better than sacrifice in the eyes of our Maker.

Jesus said not to worry, that we can’t make a single hair on our heads white or black. This tells us God is in control of everything in our lives. He created the echoes of time passing in our lives; He is the one who appoints the ages of mankind.

Worry steals joy.

Stepping out on faith means you trust God to catch you when you fall.

It does not mean over-analyzing every possible determinate outcome of a situation.

Think about it in simple terms.

God created quasars and knows every star by its individual name. He is both infinitely powerful and omniscient.

If He has that kind of power, and that kind of super-knowledge mind—why are you worried about how your life will progress?

The timing aspect is up to Him, of course.

There are some things in my own life that I’m wondering about the timing of—but sitting there and overthinking it is useless. Let it be when it is, whether now or years ahead. Consuming yourself with worry is counterproductive to God’s providential will.

There’s no sense in fixating on the potential troubles of today or tomorrow.

But there is much sense in fixating on the one who holds both today and tomorrow in His grip.

If you’ve been giving yourself to anxiety, to fear, or to doubt, let those things go to favor the understanding that religious mindsets of guilt and shame should never overtake the light of God’s love.

God has your today in His mind, and He has your tomorrow.

When you understand that, you’re free in Christ to stop the worrywart thinking.

Will you trust Him over your doubts today?
