A Short Thought on Resets
Sometimes we need a hard reset in our lives.
There’s nothing wrong with reexamining where you are today and comparing it to who you’d like to be or even to who you were before to see how much you’ve grown.
Perhaps you want to capture the youthful spirit you once had and would like to polymerize it with your current mature spirit.
It’s the little things, too, that help to reset.
Maybe you’ll take a different path when walking your dog (unless you vary locations already).
Perhaps your workout could use some extra steps to retrain yourself.
Maybe it’s something as simple as revisiting your wardrobe to refresh things. I’m partial to black everything myself, but a splash of color against the monochrome hurts nothing.
I had a conversation with my sister the other day, and she told me she had found that she loved baking bread. Sourdough, Japanese milk bread, French bread, and all sorts of starters for different breads.
I’m glad that she found something she can lose herself in, keeping a positive mindset.
My favorite things are reading, listening to music, and writing, though not necessarily in that order.
I’ve been taking in the spring blossoms lately to appreciate nature far more.
I also meditate when I pray far more than I used to, feeling at one with existence in the best of ways.
I’m far more conscious of my days now.
Resetting has also given me the chance to do things a bit differently when writing.
My philosophy has shifted hardcore into artisanal offerings in both professional and personal work and art.
I’ve got a brighter shine now and far more pep in my step.
I feel the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, and I’m grateful to let more illuminating light in from the world around me.
Growing my hair longer is also something I’m doing to reset, as I’ve been sporting a buzz cut for almost a decade. It won’t be crazy long, though. Not a fan of that myself.
I went back down to stubble, too, to give myself a little reset.
Drinking a lot more water has kept my mind far more focused lately.
In what ways might you reset yourself?
What does your spiritual walk look like after recalibrating your bearings?
Blessings and shalom to you!
