A Short Thought on Plans and Steps

There’s no rush when it comes to living a full life. Perhaps you hadn’t quite decided yet about what direction you were heading until you were in your 30s.

It’s never too late to do what you must and find your purpose.

But you must do it in a way that gives you room to breathe.

When I write a lot of words in a day, I tell myself: “8,000 words are 1,000 words 8 times, and 1,000 words is 100 words 10 times.”

Breaking it up like that allows me to do something over the course of three hours that is manageable.

It also helps to have an outline prepared beforehand, so that the prose shines with intent while the story has been figured out already.

You can also apply this logic to anything in life.

If you’re trying to get back in shape, then tell yourself 50 reps is 5 reps 10 times.

Tell yourself that eating that bowl of rice and ground beef with olive oil isn’t how it’s going to be for your meals forever.

If you’re trying to make a certain milestone, or a certain income per month, break it up into manageable chunks of time and effort.

Everything is in its time, and everything takes time.

You won’t run a marathon without first practicing for it, right?

So, take your life in the same way.

Baby steps equal massive steps as time goes on.

Going back to the outline example, having a map or vision board for what you want your life to look like after a certain amount of time also helps immensely.

Planning things out like you’re in the middle of a war is the best way forward for achieving many goals in this life.

Some people like spontaneity over structure, and that’s perfectly fine, too. Just get things going in steps and make your way forward. After six months, then a year, you’ll be somewhere you never thought you’d be able to reach.

Anything is reachable with enough planning, work, and logical steps.

I hope your day is blessed and that you have an amazing next few months!
Shalom.
